This policy explains how state, county, and local sales taxes are assessed, itemized, and collected on orders placed with Global Containers Sales USA.
1. Destination-Based Sales Tax Assessment
In compliance with United States federal and state tax laws (including economic nexus standards established by the Supreme Court decision in South Dakota v. Wayfair), sales tax is assessed based on the destination delivery address of your order rather than our dispatch facility. Applicable state, county, and municipal tax rates are calculated dynamically based on local tax rules where the container, trailer, or equipment will be physically received.
2. Product Prices & Tax Itemization
Product prices shown across our online catalog do not include state or local sales tax. Any applicable sales tax will be clearly itemized and displayed during the final order checkout and documented on your official commercial sales invoice.
3. Tax-Exempt Purchases & Resale Certificates
We honor valid state sales tax exemptions for qualifying entities, including: • Commercial Resellers with a valid state Resale Certificate. • Agricultural Producers & Commercial Farming Operations with applicable state farm exemptions. • Government Agencies, Public School Districts, and Municipalities. • 501(c)(3) Non-Profit and Charitable Organizations with state exemption letters. • Qualifying Manufacturing, Industrial, or Interstate Commerce Exempt Entities. How to Apply for Exemption: 1. Submit your completed, state-specific Exemption Certificate or Resale Certificate to sales@globalcontainersalesusa.com prior to invoice payment. 2. The business name on the certificate must match the billing and delivery information. 3. Once reviewed and verified by our accounting team, sales tax will be deducted or zero-rated on your official invoice.
4. Vehicle Titles, Registration & DMV Fees (Commercial Trailers)
For road-towable commercial trailers that require state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) registration and titling: • State vehicle licensing, plate fees, title issuance fees, and local highway usage fees are distinct from commercial sales tax and are handled directly with your state DMV. • Global Containers Sales USA provides an official Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO) or transferable title along with an itemized Bill of Sale to facilitate seamless registration in your state.
